USPS moves to cloud computing and increases efficiency
With the United States Postal Service's announcement of a forthcoming move to secure cloud computing, companies and nonprofit organizations alike have even more reason to start implementing direct mail marketing strategies.
This most recent update in a long string of updates the USPS has been making to its computing systems comes with several upgrades to the organization's existing operations. For instance, Integration Developer News reports the switch to HP Enterprise Cloud Services will assist the agency in balancing any future risks, as well as providing the USPS the ability to "respond faster to changing business conditions," referencing sales capacity and performance adjustments. Furthermore, the new cloud system will help the USPS "contain capital expenses and [gain] more predictability on recurring operating costs."
As the Wall Street Journal reports, the moves made by the USPS to update its systems are simply the agency's way of transforming to meet the needs of individuals and organizations today. Similarly, companies must do the same if they hope to stay ahead of the competition. By taking advantage of mailing software, companies already implementing or planning to implement direct mailing campaigns can streamline operations and ensure the integrity of all their information.
