Trendology report looks at direct mail sector trends
One recent study used data from the direct mail industry in the United States to forecast the future of the sector, looking at qualitative analysis and information on some of the top companies in the field.
The 2012 Trendology report will give those within the industry new guidance by focusing on technology issues that could include web-to-print, consumer issues, government regulations, industry mergers and acquisitions, and internal strengths and weaknesses. The firm's study also includes a five-year report, looking at the period between 2007-13, that focuses on industry leaders and the number of employees.
"This data is developed through Trendology's economic model using regression analysis based on historical industry trend data," the report stated. "Forecasts are available for 2013. Quantitative data for current year 2012 is provided for the U.S., 50 U.S. states, and 900 metro areas. The report also lists up to ten of the industry's major players, their current sales and stock symbol (for public companies)."
Direct mail is one of the most time-tested ways for businesses to increase engagement levels and give consumers more information about products and services being offered.
And while some marketing experts have turned to digital mediums to try and increase brand recognition, many still find that sending out printed material with the aid of address validation software helps increase profits.
