Printing industry group hails State of the Union address
One of the leading trade groups in the country recently made headlines after praising President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.
Printing Industries of America said in a statement that it was pleased with the president's focus on manufacturing, as the sector is key for an economic recovery. It pointed out that the graphic and printing community is comprised mostly of small businesses and that 60 percent are locally-owned family companies.
The leadership of the organization said that it was hoping Congress would work with the president to increase manufacturing jobs.
"We were pleased to hear President Obama lead the State of the Union address with a strong call to arms to strengthen manufacturing in this country," said Lisbeth Lyons, vice president of government affairs at Printing Industries of America. "The president acknowledged the economic importance of both domestic manufacturing and small business, calling upon Congress to address tax and energy policies."
By using tools such as web-to-print or address validation software, firms in many sectors will be able to increase exposure and sales.
