Organizations can take advantage of QR codes on printed material
Companies of all shapes and sizes can use emerging technologies like web-to-print and quick response codes to better engage with their target audience and increase levels of brand loyalty.
One organization that recently took advantage of this is the Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association, which announced that during the 2011/2012 Pennsylvania State basketball season, it would be giving fans with smartphones the chance to scan QR codes. After scanning the codes, fans will be able to take part in informative trivia games and access other multimedia content.
The head of the PAPGA, Shelby Metzger, said that the new promotion would be beneficial to all who decided to take part.
"We are pleased to provide entertaining trivia questions for Penn State fans to explore and enjoy," said Metzger. "After answering the questions, we will invite them to learn more about safety and innovative new products in the propane industry."
By leveraging QR code technology, companies will be able to bring more life to their printed materials. It is important that firms test out the QR codes before sending them out to make sure they arrive at the right digital location.
