Nonprofits can use direct mail to increase support
It's not just businesses that depend on direct mail to expand their consumer base - nonprofit organizations are also leveraging the method to increase outreach.
One sector that has been leveraging the United States Postal Services' Every Door Direct Mail Campaign is churches, which have been saving money on printed material through the relatively new endeavour. One firm that specifically targets materials to religious entities is Wall Printing and Memory Cross, which says that it has used the USPS program to tout its materials to clients.
"For churches seeking to reach out to their community this is an excellent program. Prior to EDDM a mailing list had to be purchased and each card needed to be addressed. With Every Door Direct Mail neither is required which saves hundreds of dollars. The cost of the postage is 14.5 cents," Wall Printing Company said in a release.
It can be difficult for people who recently moved to communities to know where to worship, and houses of worship seek to target these new residents. Using planned-out messages along with tools such as web-to-print is a great way to increase membership.
