Marketing groups meet with Congressional staffers
Both the Direct Marketing Nonprofit Federation and the Direct Marketing Association recently sent representatives to Washington, D.C., where they met with congressional staffers to discuss pressing issues related to the industry.
The groups met with leaders on Capitol Hill in the hopes of highlighting some pressing matters for members. More than a dozen members of the DMA and DMNF met with senior staff from the offices of Senators Rob Portman (R-OH), Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Scott Brown (R-MA), Susan Collins (R-ME) and others. They also met with staff from the offices of Representatives, including Stephen Lynch (D-MA), Darrell Issa (R-CA), Dennis Ross (R-FL) and others.
"Postal reform is a fast-moving train," said Linda Woolley, the executive vice president of the DMA's Washington office. "It is vital that Congressional leaders hear from DMA/DMANF members now in order to ensure that their interests are safeguarded in any legislation that may be passed."
The sustainability of the USPS has been one of the biggest issues for marketers who rely on address validation and other tools in conjunction with the service.
