JCPenney rolls out new direct mail catalog
One of most well-known brands is rolling out a brand-new marketing campaign, hoping to draw more customers with the strategy.
In an announcement, JCPenney's CEO Ron Johnson said that it would be rolling out a new direct mail catalog as well as a brand new logo. In addition, the retail chain will be partnering with Ellen DeGeneres to help revive the store's image and increase revenue.
Johnson, who ran Apple's retail sector prior to taking his current position, said that JCPenney would be touting its low prices to customers and using the printed materials to promote its special limited-time deals.
"I saw weekly events, I saw weekend-only events, daily only events, in-store events, online only, department specific," said Johnson of the brand's old approach. "As a customer, you've got to be wondering what the right time to buy is - it's pretty confusing."
Even the biggest brands in the world could benefit from using money-saving technology when sending out marketing materials. Tools such as address validation software are key to sending items to relevant parties.
