Engaging youngsters with printed material
One of the best demographics for companies to target is young children, who are often given the things they want by parents trying to keep them from throwing a tantrum.
Among the industries hoping to engage a younger audience, as has historically been the case, is the cereal sector. While many cereal companies have included prizes inside boxes for decades, some are expanding their strategies with a new idea - printed material.
The New York Times reports General Mills' Big G cereals have teamed up with DC Comics in order to offer special editions of comic books featuring the Justice League. The entertainment firm said it was printing 12 million copies of the illustrated books, and also provide links for fans to follow online.
"There's nothing better than getting something cool out of a cereal box for a kid," said Hank Kanalz, senior vice president for digital at DC Entertainment in an interview with The Times.
When companies take advantage of printed materials, better sales can often result. By using all tools at their disposal - including address validation software - business professionals will be able to expand their reach.
