DMA appoints new content vice president
One of the leading marketing organizations in the world made headlines recently when it appointed a new person to lead its content generation.
In a release, the Direct Marketing Association stated that David Evans will take on the newly created senior vice president of content and experience position as of December 12. Under the new role, Evans will be in charge of looking into how best to send out information
"We thought he had a unique ability as a journalist, editor-in-chief, digital pioneer and events expert to bring together all of those aspects," DMA CEO Lawrence Kimmel said. "We're only as good as the information we put out into the marketplace at large, and now we have somebody who can [ensure]…people walk away on a continuing basis with a significant body of knowledge that's usable."
The DMA has been making other headlines after taking some of its issues to Capitol Hill. In November, the group joined the Direct Marketing Nonprofit Federation to lobby members of the government to protect the rates for nonprofit mailers, who rely on strategies such as web-to-print.
