Could SnapTags become the new QR codes?
While many businesses have been implementing quick response codes on pieces of printed material they produce, other emerging methods are also gaining popularity.
In a recent column for Digital Nirvana, Heidi Tolliver-Walker writes that some have begun using SnapTags instead of QR codes to give consumers an even greater level of engagement. Instead of simply sending people to a site, the new codes have a video feature, which many find more appealing than the written word.
"Unlike QR codes, SnapTags are their own mini mobile universe," Tolliver writes. "The SnapTag platform is built around mobile SnapTag sites so the person scanning the tag or accessing the content automatically lands on a mobile optimized page. Each page also contains social media links to allow viral sharing by default."
Staying up to date with the latest innovations is one of the most important things a business can do to engage with clients. As technology changes rapidly, direct marketers must stay up to speed and leverage all tools at their disposal, including web-to-print.
