Canada Post is gearing up for the holidays
With the end-of-the-year holidays quickly approaching, Canada Post is preparing for what it anticipates to be the busiest season for mail since the beginning of the country's mail delivery services.
Come winter, Canada Post expects to be inundated with thousands, if not millions, of letters and packages to be delivered daily - much like last year. To avoid any major surfeit of mail, the agency has announced via an open letter it will soon begin implementing a series of changes to streamline mail delivery. While these changes are meant to ensure a smooth transition for Canada Post into the holiday season, they also provide companies a platform to increase exposure and efficiency in direct mail marketing campaigns, especially for those using mailing software, which helps increase address accuracy and cut costs.
The changes, which are set to take effect some time in mid-November, will include such measures as: delivering mail seven days a week; leaving notes for those who aren't home and providing a location for them to pick up their mail; improving scanning capabilities; and allowing for a more comprehensive tracking system.
These efforts are likely to benefit consumers and companies alike.
