Those of you that mail regularly to your customers will probably be aware of the new USPS® rules regarding Move Update standards that come into effect on November 23rd 2008:
- all mailers, both First and Standard Class, must update their addresses through an approved "Move Update" process to qualify for automation and other discounts.
- your list must be run through such a process within 95 days prior to a mailing.

PENALTIES
The penalties for not conforming to the new regulations could get expensive too. The USPS has proposed a penalty for non-compliance of $0.07 per mailpiece, which would not just apply to your UAA mailpieces, but to every piece in your entire mailing. If your mailing is 200,000 pieces, this could result in a penalty of $14,000!
