Commercial mailers can improve branding with Picture Permit Imprint Indicia program
Showcasing their company's logo is important for marketers who are looking for ways to improve brand recognition. The U.S. Postal Service recently announced the launch of the Picture Permit Imprint Indicia program for commercial mailers, which allows them to place their logo right on the outside of their mailings.
This opportunity is available for commercial mailers who send their mail through presorted first-class mail letters for a premium of 1 cent, and cards or standard mail letters for a premium of 2 cents.
“Dozens of our largest customers looking to increase brand awareness and increase the effectiveness of their mail have asked us to allow more creativity in the design of their permit indicia,” said Gary Reblin, vice president of domestic products for the USPS. “Permit indicia enhanced with logos, photos or other brand images increase the visual impact of the mailpiece as well as its open rate and value.”
Businesses that are interested in the the program can view the website, which is in service now. The program starts on June 24.
Marketers who brand the outside of an envelope with a logo can further increase the effectiveness of the mailing by using the fill-in-the-blank personalization features of a web-to-print workflow solution.
